Berkeley Co. school retirees saluted

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Berkeley County Schools honored its 26 retirees Monday with a reception at Martinsburg High School.

Members of the Berkeley County Board of Education and Superintendent Manny Arvon were among those on hand to recognize the retirees.

Those honored included:

Mary Burkhart, guidance counselor at Musselman Middle School; Judith Cline,math teacher at Musselman Middle School; Terry Demien, teacher at Mill Creek Intermediate School; Charlene Gwinn, teacher at North Middle School; Jerry Horner, teacher at Musselman High School.

Rebecca Jones, teacher at Musselman Middle School; Janet Kave, teacher at Hedgesville Elementary School; Garry Kilmer, technology department; Larry Laing, driver's education teacher; Donna Markley, teacher of adult education.


Sondra Matthews, teacher at Valley View Elementary School; M. Kay Morrow, teacher at Inwood Primary School; Mary Jo Pingley, special education teacher; Bonita Rephann, teacher at Musselman Middle School.

Carl Stickley, teacher at South Middle School; Elizabeth Stickley, teacher at South Middle School; Nancy Whitehurst, teacher at Tomahawk and Janice Whittaker, teacher at Martinsburg High School.

Retiring service personnel include:

Thelma Coyle, cook at North Middle School; James Duckworth, cook at South Middle School; Harold Fink, bus operator; Harry Linton, custodian at Bunker Hill; Charlotte Lucas, special education aide at Bunker Hill; Wanda Markley, cook at Hedgesville Elementary School; Sandra Orndorff, bus operator; Judy Poole, kindergarten aide at Hedgesville Elementary School; and Gail Seifert, bus operator.
