Pa. man in trauma center after May 25 crash

June 02, 2009

BALTIMORE -- A 19-year-old Needmore, Pa., man remained hospitalized Tuesday at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center following a May 25 car wreck at the entrance to the Mason-Dixon Dragway, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Brandon Michael Buser was in serious but stable condition at the trauma center Tuesday afternoon, the spokeswoman said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Buser failed to yield to oncoming traffic while attempting to make a left-hand turn from the dragway onto westbound U.S. 40.

As a result, the door on the driver's side of the Cavalier was struck by a vehicle traveling east on U.S. 40.

Police said Buser was flown from the scene with life-threatening injuries.

The three occupants of the vehicle which hit Buser's car were taken to Washington County Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
