Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School



BLUE RIDGE SUMMMIT, Pa. - Margie Schaeffer, owner and director of Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School, was a guest instructor last month at the 2009 World Massage Festival in New Braunfels, Texas.

The symposium brought together industry professional from around the world for an opportunity for networking.

Schaeffer, who specializes in ergonomic efficient body usage for massage, presented a workshop titled "How to Lengthen Your Career - Centered Massage, Safe Hands or No Hands."

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Melinda Benedick of Fayetteville, Pa., has been named loan officer with AgChoice Farm Credit's Cumberland Valley branch.

Benedick has worked for AgChoice for more than five years as portfolio manager. As loan officer, she will work closely with rural and agricultural customer-owners, finding financial solutions that best fit their needs.

She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in ag systems management, and is involved with the Franklin County Holstein Club, Pennsylvania Holstein Association and Mid-Atlantic Alliance of Cooperatives Youth Summer Institute.

AgChoice Farm Credit's Cumberland Valley branch serves customers in Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton and Perry counties.

Shalom Christian Academy



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Angie Petersheim has been named interim administrator at Shalom Christian Academy.

Petersheim has been the elementary/middle school principal at the school since July 1999.

She holds a bachelor's degree in special education from Hood College and a master's degree in educational leadership and administration from Philadelphia Biblical University.

She serves as deacon at Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church and is a member of the Discipleship Council of the Allegheny Conference of the Brethren in Christ Church.

Tower Bank



GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Michael Baylor has been named chief operating officer for Tower Bank, where he will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the bank's sales and services, as well as overall operations of the Tower Bank division.

Baylor, a 24-year veteran of the financial services industry, most recently was PNC Bank's regional president for Western Maryland. He also was the Maryland market president for Sovereign Bank.

He has a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and a master's degree from Frostburg State University. He is a graduate of the National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware.

He serves on the board of the Washington County chapter of the American Red Cross and has served on the board of the United Way of Washington County. He is a member of the Cedar Ridge Advisory Board and Greater Hagerstown Committee.

Orrstown Financial Services



SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Thomas R. Quinn Jr. has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Orrstown Financial Services Inc.

Quinn, who began working for the company in March, was appointed to the boards of directors of Orrstown Financial Services Inc. and Orrstown Bank.

He previously served as president and chief executive officer of Fifth Third Bank's south Florida affiliate. He also worked in several executive positions for Citigroup.

Mark K. Keller was appointed to the board of directors of Orrstown Financial Services Inc. Keller, a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, also serves on the board of directors of Orrstown Bank.

Brook Lane Health Services



LEITERSBURG - Dr. Eric J. Carbonell and Dr. Corvin V. Robinson have joined the staff at Brook Lane Health Services.

Carbonell is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who will work with youths in the hospital and in the partial hospitalization program for children and adolescents.

He has a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, and completed his internship in psychiatry, fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, and residency in psychiatry at the University of Florida.

He last worked for Sheppard Pratt Health System in Frederick, Md.

Robinson holds certification in general psychiatry from the National Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and will work with adolescents, adults and elder adults in the hospital and in outpatient treatment.

He has a medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in psychiatry at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Associated Engineering Sciences Inc.



Kimberly J. Shrader has joined Associated Engineering Sciences Inc. in Hagerstown as a design engineer and project manager in the civil engineering department.

Shrader is a registered civil engineer in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.

The Washington County native is a 1982 graduate of the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in civil and architectural engineering. She has experience in surveying and site development design, including roadways, drainage, storm water management and sanitary sewer systems.

Hagerstown-Washington County EDC



Shelby Penn and Harold Lucas have been appointmed to the Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission (EDC) Board of Directors for fiscal year 2010.

Penn, a financial adviser at Edward Jones, was reappointed as a City of Hagerstown representative and will serve her three-year term beginning July 1.

Lucas, a director with Sierra Nevada Corp.'s Integrated Mission Systems at Hagerstown Regional Airport, was appointed as an at-large representative and will serve his three-year term beginning July 1.
