Way to go, Carly

Carly Pitsnogle, a fourth-grader at Paramount Elementary School, competed May 9 in the 2009 Level 4 Maryland State Gymnastics Championship in Churchville, Md.

Carly won the all-around state championship for her age group with a score of 37.50. Her event scores included vault, 9.50, second place; bars, 9.45, fifth place; beam, 9.275, fourth place; and floor, 9.275, ninth place.

Carly is coached by Deanna Kline and Sandy Van Cleave at 4-Star Gymnastics in Williamsport.


On June 26, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 77 had a net loss.

Louise Horst led the program on "Choosing to Change." She said the group needs to focus on the benefits of a healthful lifestyle.

Kathy Freese won the "Get-R-Done" contest with a five-pound loss and Mary Jo Kemper won the monthly KOPS contest.

The TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 446 members were reminded by program speaker Linda Perry how to have a healthful summer by handling foods safely. Thank you, Linda, for the simple, inexpensive tips.

Kudos to classmate Carolyn Ridenour Hill, Hagerstown High School class of 1943. The class is proud of your achievement of graduating May 17 from Hagerstown Community College's Adult Education and Literacy Services program and receiving your high school diploma through the GED program. Way to go, girl.
