Police seek man who stole steaks from supermarket



HAGERSTOWN -- Hagerstown Police say a man in his 20s stuffed two packs of steaks down the front of his pants Thursday morning at the Martin's Food Market on Wesel Boulevard and left the store without paying.

The theft happened between 10:56 a.m. and 11:03 a.m., police said. The steaks were worth $31.08.

The man was white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and wore black pants and a black and white shirt, police said.

Pa. man charged after marijuana found at Hagerstown motel



HAGERSTOWN -- A York, Pa. man faces charges after a deputy found marijuana at Motel 6 on Massey Boulevard in Hagerstown, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

Matthew Neal Nagengast, 28, of 2550 Kingston Road, apartment 113, in York, was charged with possession of marijuana and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, deputy M. Albowicz said.

Albowicz said he found the drug while responding to a nonpayment complaint at the motel.

Info sought about vending machine break-ins



ADAMSTOWN, Md. -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Department is seeking information about a group of teens or young adults caught in surveillance photos breaking into a vending machine outside Stup's Market on Mountville Road in Adamstown, Md., according to a news release from the department.

The incident was reported on May 10.

The vandals stole coins and caused about $100 in damage to the machine, Cpl. Eric Byers said.

The suspects were light-skinned men wearing black sweat shirts and jeans, Byers said. Investigators believe they may have been involved in other destruction of property cases in Frederick County, he said.

Friday:

o At 8:19 a.m., two weed eaters were stolen during a breaking and entering in the 100 block of East Antietam Street.

o At 12:14 p.m., a theft was reported at MasterCuts at Valley Mall.

o At 1:20 p.m., a theft was reported at Old Navy at Valley Mall.

o At 3:14 p.m., a theft was reported at Jennifer's Floral at 13710 Pennsylvania Ave.

Saturday:

o At 12:03 a.m., a fight was reported at the Creekside Inn at 1225 Security Road.

o At 6:32 a.m., a pool was damaged in the 1200 block of Wabash Avenue.

o At 8:03 a.m., firearms and a watch were stolen during a breaking and entering in the 11000 block of Marbern Road.

o At 10:18 a.m., a shoplifting was reported at J.C. Penney at Valley Mall.

o At noon, the Americom building on Insurance Way was damaged.

o At 4:40 p.m., damage to a fence was reported on Chips Court in Smithsburg.

Sunday:

o At 12:42 a.m., disorderly conduct was reported at Washington Court Apartments.

o At 7:47 a.m., theft of fishing rods was reported in the 300 block of East Church Street.

o At 1:16 p.m., mail was taken during a breaking and entering in the 17000 block of Virginia Avenue.

o At 7:56 p.m., a fight was reported at Shafer Memorial Park.

o At 8:07 p.m., a window was broken out in the 13000 block of Herman Myers Road.

o At 8:26 p.m., an assault was reported at Big Pine Children's Home at 12720 Rockdale Road.

o At 9:22 p.m., a fight was reported at Sheetz in Williamsport.

o At 9:34 p.m., an undesirable was reported on Oak Tree Lane.

Monday:

o At 12:35 p.m., destruction of property involving mailboxes was reported in the 7000 block of Mount Laurel Road.

o At 1:56 p.m., an assault was reported at the Mason Dixon Dragway on National Pike.

o At 2:17 a.m., an attempted breaking and entering was reported at Hancock Citgo and Subway at 187 and 189 W. Main St.

o At 4:52 a.m., prescriptions were taken during a breaking and entering in the 8000 block of Jordan Road.

o At 8:29 a.m., an automobile theft was reported in the 11000 block of Hickory School Road.

o At 9:05 a.m., outside wiring was cut in a destruction of property complaint in the 1000 block of Mount Aetna Road.

o At 12:56 p.m., credit card offenses were reported at various stores in Williamsport.

o At 4:47 p.m., a breaking and entering of an outbuilding was reported in the 19000 block of Alva Court.

o At 4:48 p.m., damage to a field was reported in the 20000 block of Lehmans Mill Road.

o At 10:09 p.m., a breaking and entering was reported in the 400 block of Bentley Court.

Tuesday:

o At 7:37 a.m., disorderly conduct was reported in the 17900 block of Garden Lane

o At 8:16 a.m., theft was reported in the 23500 block of Welty Church Road. A sign was taken from a yard and a mailbox was damaged.

o At 8:34 a.m., theft was reported in the 4300 block of Trego Road. An electric meter was taken.

o At 10:15 a.m., theft was reported in the 11300 block of Greenberry Road. An iPod was taken.
