Water line break forces street closing

May 28, 2009

HAGERSTOWN -- West Antietam Street between Summit Avenue and South Potomac Street was reopened to traffic at about 2 p.m. Thursday after being closed for about five hours for water line repairs.

The street had been closed while city workers fixed a subsurface water line that broke at about 9 a.m., Hagerstown Water Supervisor John Kline said.

The leak was isolated to the east end of West Antietam Street, he said.
