Latona, Burt recognized at Tech High

Ashley Latona and Tony Burt have been named Students of the Month for May at Washington County Technical High School.

Ashley is enrolled in early childhood professions, English 12 composition and is a teaching assistant at My Special Place Preschool at Tech High.

Ashley is a class representative for Skills/USA and student government. Ashley participated in the Skills/USA state competition for preschool teaching.

Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Ashley will attend Hagerstown Community College, and plans to transfer to Hood College or Shepherd University to major in elementary education.

Ashley would like to thank her friends, family and teachers for their support.

Tony is enrolled in pre-engineering, advanced-placement English literature, advanced- placement calculus, digital electronics and honors physics.

Tony likes to spend time listening to music and being with friends.

Tony is on the Quiz Bowl Team, the "It's Academic" Team and is a part of the Skills/USA Chapter.


Tony competed in the Quiz Bowl competition in his junior and senior years, where he and his team took second place each time.

Tony is proud of his accomplishments as a high school student, and is proud to be a part of Washington County Technical High School's class of 2009.

Tony has been accepted to the engineering program at Penn State Mont Alto, and plans to transfer to Penn State's main campus for his junior and senior years.

Tony would like to thank his teachers and his parents for all of their hard work and support through the years.
