Man arrested in lounge stabbing

HAGERSTOWN - Just hours after an early-morning stabbing Monday at a Dual Highway bar, Hagerstown City Police had a suspect in custody and charged him with attempted first-degree murder.

Elijah Timothy Taylor, 28, of 11234 Fenway Road, Hagerstown, was being held without bond Monday afternoon at the Washington County Detention Center, jail officials confirmed at 1:40 p.m.

Officers from the Hagerstown City Police responded to Diva's Lounge, 431 Dual Highway, at 1:41 a.m. Monday for a reported disturbance.

On arrival, officers learned one person had been stabbed multiple times after an argument in the parking lot. The victim was driven to Washington County Hospital, where he was admitted with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect was found to also be at the hospital being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Additional charges against Taylor include attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and carrying a weapon with the intent to injure.
