How did you get into your business, or what motivated you to start it?: "I fell in love with horses at a young age. It was actually when my Girl Scout troop went to a local farm to earn a horseback riding patch," Adams said. "I knew right then and there I would learn to ride and work my hardest to one day open a business where I could follow my dreams of teaching and being involved with horses."

Adams joined the local 4-H and Pony Club, where she became interested in English riding and three-day eventing (dressage, show jumping and cross country). After obtaining an "A" ranking, she moved east to continue training and to compete at higher levels.

Previous business experience: Adams graduated from college with a degree in early childhood education and taught kindergarten through fifth grade in Ohio and Virginia. She has taught riding lessons for 10 years and her experience in the horse industry includes managing farms; training, competing and selling horses; and grooming for top-level competitors.
