WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Marjorie Evelyn Plessinger Dehart, 87, of Warfordsburg, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her home.

Born Feb. 22, 1922, in Belfast Township, Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lee W. and Effie Taylor Funk; and was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond J. Plessinger, in 1970; and her second husband, Calvin Dehart, in 1995.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg.

She had been employed by Sagner Inc. of McConnellsburg, and various lodges and greenhouses while living in Alaska.

She is survived by three sons, Lawrence R. Plessinger of Nikiski, Alaska, and Grover E. Plessinger and Denver A. Plessinger, both of Warfordsburg; one sister, Betty Fletcher of Warfordsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice E. Plessinger; one son, Roger Keith Plessinger; a stepson, Emerson J. Plessinger; and a stepdaughter, Mary Powell; also one grandson, Denver Allan Plessinger Jr.


Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. The Rev. Denver A. Plessinger will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 3013 Pleasant Grove Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
