CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ethel Mayetta Hull, age 78, of Chambersburg, Pa., died unexpectedly at Providence Place Senior Care Home.

Born May 29, 1930, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Duffield Atherton and Hazel Bowers Atherton.

Mrs. Hull was employed as a seamstress by the former Stanley Co. She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, AARP Falling Spring Chapter 2840, NARFE (life member), Red Hat Society and the Moose Lodge.

She enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards.

Mrs. Hull is survived by her daughter, Judy L. Friese (husband Jeffrey) of Chambersburg; her two granddaughters, Jennifer Ordway (husband Chad) of Chambersburg and Julie Koons (husband Jeffrey) of Greencastle, Pa.; her three great-granddaughters, Abby, Amaya and Morgan; as well as her siblings, Frances Reeder, Mildred Youst, Doris Tosten, Norma Clevenger, Charles Atherton, Donald Atherton, Vesta Fogelsonger and Glen Atherton.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy E. "Steve" Hull, in 1991, as well as four siblings, Junior, Kenneth, Carl and Ruby Atherton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Lester F. Stine and thte Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
