Gateway Republican Women offer Summer Camp Funding to students



COWEN, W.Va. -- Gateway Republican Women is offering youth ages 14 to 18 the opportunity to win a scholarship to attend the 37th annual Conservative Youth Leadership Camp at Camp Caesar in Cowen.

The opportunity is open to youth in Berkeley, Jefferson, or Morgan counties. Campers have an opportunity to develop leadership skills, participate in a mock model Congress, study the nation's founders, go swimming and participate in sports and games.

The one-week camp, also known as Camp Lincoln, will be held Sunday, July 5 through Saturday, July 11. Camp scholarships are offered to cover $200 of the $250 total camp fee. Scholarship winners must provide $50, their own transportation, and have parental approval.

A scholarship application may be requested by e-mail at gatewaygopwomen@gmail.com. Applications must be postmarked by June 8. Additional information and/or applications may be obtained at www.camplincolnwv.org.

Teen girls sought to compete in two Washington County pageants



Contestants for two pageants are being sought.

Miss Pre Teen Washington County International 2010 is being sought. Applicants must be ages 9 through 12.

Contestants will compete in onstage introduction, fun fashion, 12-minute speech, aerobic wear and formal wear (ball gown).

The winner will receive a free entry into the Miss Teen Maryland International Pageant when they are age eligible.

The pageant will be April 9 and 10, 2010. Applicants must live or attend school in Maryland.

Miss Teen Washington County International 2010 is also being sought. Applicants must be ages 13 through 18. The pageant will be April 9 and 10, 2010. Applicants must live or attend school in Maryland. Contestants will compete in onstage personal interview, fun fashion, aerobic wear and evening gown.

The winner will receive a an all-expense-paid trip to the national competition in July.
