Periodontal procedures seminar offered at HCC

Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education is offering a seminar on "Periodontal Procedures for the 21st Century: Providing Excellent Skills and Service, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Friday, May 29, at The Merle S. Elliott Continuing Education and Conference Center at Hagerstown Community Colelge. The seminar costs $149 per person. When registering three or more from the same dental office, cost is $135 per person. Professional continuing education credits are available from the Maryland Board of Dental Examiners and the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners.

Dementia care seminar

Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education is offering a seminar on "Providing Dementia Care: Enhancing Outcomes," from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the Kepler Theater at Hagerstown Community College. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. followed by a continental breakfast.

Professional continuing education credits are available for nurses, nurse practitioners, nursing home administrators, social workers, psychologists, hearing and speech professionals and others who work with older adults.

The seminar costs $59 for health care professionals and $25 for family care givers. Fee includes continental breakfast, continuing education credits (CEUs), handout materials, and a certificate of attendance. Participants are asked to provide their own lunches. On-campus dining is available.

Living well expo

Living Well Expo 2009 will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Valley Mall. Bridal boot camp for fall brides-to-be

Chad and Kat Smith, local personal trainers and founders of Home Team Fitness, LLC, have launched a three-phase bridal fitness boot camp guaranteed to get local Hagerstown brides-to-be in the best shape before their wedding day.
