The Brickers

Wallace and Louise Bricker of Mercersburg, Pa., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 15, 2009. Family and friends visited throughout the week for cake and cookies. They also received many cards and flowers.

Mr. Bricker worked on the farm, at Fairchild for 20 years and Mack Trucks for 23 years. He also served in the Army Infantry during World War II.

Mrs. Bricker was a homemaker and also worked on the farm.

They have three children, son, Richard Bricker and wife Carolyn of Wellsville, Pa.; daughter, Loretta Robinson, wife of Wayne Robinson of Mercersburg; and son, Dave Bricker of Mercersburg. They have six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

They were married April 15, 1939.

The Seburns

Betty and John "Jack" Seburn of Greencastle, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28, 2008. They were married in Broadfording Church of the Brethren by the Rev. J. Stanley Earhart.


Mrs. Seburn is the former Betty Palmer, daughter of the late Webster and Margaret Palmer. Mr. Seburn is the son of the late Charles and Hazel Seburn.

The Seburns have three children, son, John Seburn and his wife, Michele, of Greencastle, Pa.; daughter, Sue Rodriguez and her husband, Sergio, of Greencastle; and son, Patrick Seburn and his wife, Shelly, of Lovettsville, Va.

They have four grandchildren.

They celebrated their anniversary with family, followed by a "Southern Splendor" bus tour in March.
