BOE meetings available on Web

May 17, 2009

Washington County Board of Education business meetings are now available as streaming video on the Washington County Public Schools Web site at www.wcboe.k12.md.us.

From the "Elected Board" link on the home page, users will be able to access a current meeting live, the two most recent meetings and links to audio-only files.

"We are pleased to provide another convenient way for Washington County citizens to take an active role in the business of the school system," BOE President Wayne Ridenour said in a prepared release. "Our Web site continues to be a great communications tool for parents and the county in general, and we're confident that this new feature will increase participation and feedback."

Communications Officer Richard Wright says, "We're taking every technological opportunity available to us to provide stakeholders with access to BOE discussions and decisions."

Official minutes from the meeting are also available online, and DVD copies of the live meetings are available upon written request to the Public Information Office.
