Mary-Jo McCoy, 62, of 14301 Luella Place, Hagerstown, Md., passed into eternal peace on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, while in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving husband, family and pets. Mary-Jo was under the care of Hospice of Washington County.

Born Nov. 14, 1946, in Fort Hood, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Albert G. Fellers, Major U.S. Army, and Teresa Fellers of Martinsburg, W.Va. In addition to her mother, Mary-Jo is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Tim McCoy. Mary-Jo and Tim enjoyed a bond of love, respect and appreciation for each other that was most unique and unconditional.

She is also survived by her two daughters and one son, Kelly Moler and her husband Mark, Ken Hilker Jr. and his wife Bobbi, all of Hagerstown, and Karen Ashwell and her husband Will of Culpeper, Va.; one sister, Tessie Fellers of Martinsburg, W.Va. Mary-Jo loved and enjoyed her seven grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Morgan, Andrew, Jack, all of Hagerstown, and Jacob and Logan of Culpeper. Mary-Jo was the beloved daughter-in-law of Charley and Shirley McCoy of Hagerstown.

Mary-Jo will be sadly missed by her beloved dog "Emma," who was at her side every minute possible.

Mary-Jo loved and enjoyed nature and was known for her greatest love and compassion for animals. She always provided the wild birds with plenty to eat year round. Mary-Jo is remembered most for her beautiful smile.

She had a great attention for detail. She enjoyed gardening, decorating and watching NASCAR.

Mary-Jo was of the Christian faith.

Most of her career was representing Manpower Temporary Services as a staffing specialist onsite at Citicorp in Hagerstown. Mary-Jo volunteered for the Humane Society of Washington County. Mary-Jo also volunteered as an EMT with Community Rescue Service.

A Remembrance Service and Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Smithsburg Lions Club Park at 12 noon. Pastor Ray Young will officiate. Please RSVP by calling 240-217-6775 by June 6, 2009.

Mary-Jo wished to acknowledge the wonderful support from Hospice. In lieu of flowers, Mary-Jo requested memorial donations made to Hospice of Washington County or the Humane Society of Washington County.

Mary-Jo gave the ultimate gift by donating her body to the Anatomy Gift Registry of Glen Burnie, Md. The organization's mission is to place donated human tissue for use in medical science and education for ailments such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, osteoporosis, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
