FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Claude LeRoy "Lee" Crawford Jr., 64, of 6130 Fairway Drive West, Fayetteville, Pa., passed away, Thursday, May 14, 2009, at his home.

Born Thursday, Nov. 9, 1944, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Ellen E. Smith Crawford of Hagerstown and the late Claude L. Crawford Sr.

He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and later attended Hagerstown Junior College and the University of Maryland. After college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the N.S.A. (National Security Agency) from 1966 to 1970. Lee was employed with Wells Fargo as a financial advisor for many years. He also was well known for his financial report which was heard on WHAG Radio for over 35 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and enjoyed golfing and gardening.


He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rosaria "Toni" Crawford; two sisters, Karen Marie Crawford of Hancock, Md., and Kaye Ellen Crawford of Baltimore, Md.; stepdaughter, Lori C. Twiss of Waynesboro, Pa.; two stepsons, Michael A. Twiss of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Timothy V. Twiss of Baltimore; five grandchildren, Kayla Twiss, Michael Twiss, Christopher Twiss, Siena Twiss and Leo Twiss.

Services will be held Monday, May 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Edward Heim officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 17.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
