Students raise money for McDonald House

May 14, 2009

Boonsboro High School students conducted fundraisers earlier this school year and generated $1,000 for the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore.

A number of the students, who belong to the Link Crew at the school, traveled to the center recently to make the check presentation, tour the facility and learn more about the center's work with seriously ill children and their families.

Funds were raised at basketball games and in a competition among first-period classes.

In their visit to the Ronald McDonald House, students met with Marianne Rowan-Braun, president/CEO, who thanked the students for their effort and generosity, and talked about the ways people contribute to visiting families. The Boonsboro students immediately began planning for related activities next school year.

The Link Crew is comprised of student leaders who assist incoming students with the transition from middle school to high school, serving as mentors and role models.
