May 12, 2009

Michael Guerrero slapped a key two-run single in the fourth inning and Tyler Moore added a three-run home run on Monday to lift the Hagerstown Suns to a 7-2 over West Virginia.

Guerrero highlighted the Suns' three-run inning with a bases-loaded single off West Virginia starter Maurice Bankston to give Hagerstown a 3-2 lead. Chris Curran followeed with a single to finish the rally.

Moore clubbed his first homer of the season in the seventh to give the Suns added insurance.

The two rallies made a winner of Austin Garrett (2-1), who relieved starter Jack McGeary in the fifth. Garrett worked three scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out three.

The Suns scored in the first when Derek Norris drove in his 24th run with a single to score Nick Arata.
