HCC to offer driver's ed class

Hagerstown Community College is now certified by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to offer driver education classes, which are required to obtain a Maryland Class C driver's license. Each course offers a three-hour orientation, 30 hours of classroom work and six hours of behind-the-wheel driving.

The first course begins with orientation on May 27 at 6 p.m., with classes held on Monday and Wednesday evenings through June. Orientation for the second course begins July 6 at 6 p.m., with classes held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from July 8 to Aug. 10. Behind- the-wheel driving sessions will be individually scheduled outside of class time.

Cost for the course is $280 per person, plus a $5 registration fee. Students are required to bring their learner's permits to the first class. To register or learn more, contact Deb Bauer, transportation safety specialist, at 301-790-2800, ext. 508.
