McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Beatrice M. Morton, 94, of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit and formerly of 5246 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, Pa., died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Beatrice was born in Needmore on March 18, 1915, the daughter of the late Oliver H. and Sarah "Myrtle" (Mellott) Daniels.

She was the widow of Harold M. Morton, whom she married July 22, 1933. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1989.


She was a lifetime member of Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore. Beatrice taught Sunday school and was treasurer for many years, and was also a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church Ladies Aide.

She was a homemaker and farm wife. She loved gardening, flowers and caring for others.

She is survived by daughter Audrea J. Miller, wife of Neill, of Needmore; son Blaine O. Morton, husband of Carolyn, of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.; sister Beula Kerlin of Birmingham, Ala.; and brother Blair Daniels of Harrisonville, Pa. She also is survived by five grandchildren, Kimberly S. Slee of Orrstown, Pa., Kevin B. Morton of Big Cove Tannery, Kristi D. Mellott of Needmore, Mac M. Miller of Needmore and Patti Miller of Needmore; and two great-grandchildren, Justin D. Mellott and Noah A. Hykes, both of Needmore.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Fix and Viola Madden; and two brothers, Blaine Daniels and Donald Daniels.

Religious service will be held at Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, with the Rev. William Swope, Pastor Roger Truax and Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Needmore.

There will be visitation Wednesday, May 13, 2009, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville, Pa. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
