A blessed day

Happy belated Mother's Day. Mine was nothing short of fabulous and I have my wonderful family to thank for making me feel like a queen. I am truly a blessed woman and I thank God each day for sending to me such beautiful souls to love and cherish.

This is a very busy week and I hope that you are good and rested to get things started.

Testing this week

AP testing is this week at South Hagerstown High School, so make sure your AP students are getting plenty of rest and are ready to tackle the extensive tests.

At the end of the week is the prom at Tech High, so what better way to celebrate than to wind things down with a dance?

Please be cautious when driving, as prom season is upon us and the young adults are out in force. Say an extra prayer for all the proms to be successful and not marred by anything more than a bad shade of lipstick.

Reunion planned

For those of you who had proms many moons ago, the time to plan for the South Hagerstown High School class of 1974 reunion is here.

It will be Aug. 15 at Beaver Creek Country Club. Thirty-five years. Amazing, isn't it?

There are many events planned, including a five-day cruise in October. If you have not received information, contact Karen Kline Luther at 301-964-5137.

Pet adoption day

Don't forget that Long and Foster's pet adoption day is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Dual Highway office in Hagerstown.

The event will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.

There will be food and beverages, plus a few surprises.

Stop by and check out the furry friends looking for a new home or just stop by and make a donation of food or money.

I will be there because I adore the fine folks at this Long and Foster office - they are the ones who brought me to Funkstown a long time ago.
