WILLIAMSPORT -- The Washington County Teachers Federal Credit Union at 16802 Virginia Ave. near Williamsport was robbed just after 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Within minutes of a call about a robbery at the credit union, Washington County Sheriff's Department deputies were on the scene checking the area for what they believed was a lone robber.

The man, who was described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 18 to 20 years old, wearing dark baggy jean shorts, a brown, hooded sweat shirt, black shoes and a black bandanna over his face, entered the bank at 1:37 p.m., according to Sgt. Chris Weaver.

Shortly after the incident, investigators were trying to determine if it was an armed robbery.

Sgt. Daryl Sanders said Monday night there was nothing to indicate in a report on the incident that the robber was armed or that a weapon was displayed.
