Preps Roundup -- Hubs celebrate first playoff victory

WHEATON, Md. -- Lyndsey Knapp scored on an assist from Jackie Keller with 90 seconds left to give North Hagerstown its first girls lacrosse playoff victory in school history, a 12-11 Maryland 3A/2A West first-round win over Wheaton on Thursday.

Ashley Binau had six goals and an assist, while Alissa Miller added two goals and one assist and Keller had a goal and two assists for the Hubs (3-9). Cali Durning had a goal and an assist, Kristen Mazzei scored a goal and Jackie Stewart and Morgan Padula combined to record eight saves.

North will travel to play Walkersville in the second round on Saturday at noon.

Saint James 11, Maret 9

WASHINGTON -- Anna Morrow scored four goals on just four shots, caused four turnovers and had an assist to lead Saint James over Maret.

Caroline Salisbury had four goals and an assist for the Saints (13-2), while Courtney Peterson added two goals and Mary Bacon had a goal and an assist. Goalie Sarah Gosling recorded 13 saves.

COLONIAL PARK, Pa. -- Tyler Fore and Jordan Riley each homered in Chambersburg's three-run fourth inning as the Trojans wrapped up their Mid-Penn Commonwealth schedule with a win over Central Dauphin East (5-9, 2-7).

Fore and Riley both finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Mitch Warner (5-0) pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts for Chambersburg (12-5, 8-4).

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Jared Doyle hit a two-run homer in the top of the third to lead Greencastle-Antrim over Steel-High (2-12, 2-9) in the Mid-Penn Capital.

Alex Izer struck out six and gave up just one hit in four innings for the Blue Devils (14-2-1, 12-1).

Dylan Whiteside went 3-for-3, stole three bases and scored on a Derek Younker single in the fourth for the Indians (7-6, 6-5). Jesse Smartt doubled in Jake Fitz in the third.

Zack Morgan scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh as Grace Academy beat Calvary Christian (3-5, 3-4) in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

HUSTONTOWN, Pa. -- Kelsey White threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and also drove in three runs in the opener of Southern Fulton's doubleheader sweep of Forbes Road in the Sideling Hill League.

Alexis Knisely had three RBIs and Emily Garland added two RBIs in Game 1 for the Indians (7-5, 5-5).

Keena Elbin and Taylor Leasure each had four RBIs in the nightcap, while Jenny Hager had two RBIs.
