LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. -- Edward D. Repp Sr., 70, of 114th St., beloved husband of nearly 50 years of Mary C. Giamis Repp of Lansingburgh, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at his residence in the loving comfort and care of his family.

Born in Blairs Valley, Md., he was the son of the late George D. and Hazel B. Faith Repp and was a graduate of Clear Spring High School (Maryland).

Mr. Repp was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1957 to 1962 in Korea and Germany.

He had been employed by Eastern Refractories in Troy as a union mason, working and retiring out of Local No. 2 in Albany.


Mr. Repp served as president of Local No. 2, was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Cohoes, was a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh, loved spending time with his family, in particular playing being Santa Claus for many years, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting.

Edward and Mary would have celebrated their 50th anniversary of marriage on Aug. 31, 2009.

Devoted father of Edward D. (Rosalie) Repp Jr. of Halfmoon, Anthony A. Repp and Yvette C. Repp, both of Troy and the late Linda Repp, brother of Nancy Jane King of Hagerstown, Md., Robert M. Repp of Blairs Valley, Linda B. (Larry) Guillard of Williamsport, Md., Ted W. Repp of Blairs Valley, and the late Hilda M. Carbaugh, Mildred Eileen (the late Arthur) Barklow, Dana Maris (the late Chester) Sensel, Joe Frederick Repp who is survived by his wife, Ellen Repp, of Blairs Valley, cherished grandfather of Randall Gervasio-Repp, Peter, Dana, Anthony E. and Jennifer Repp, brother-in-law of Frances White (the late Charles), Patricia Jacques (the late David), Anthony (Karen) Giamis, the late Linda Conway, who is survived by her husband, Edward, son-in-law of the late Edna Giamis, nephew of Mildred Faith, Catherine Jones and Rita Clark, also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Saturday at 8:45 a.m. at John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue), Lansingburgh, thence to St. Patrick's Church, 3027 Sixth Ave., Troy, where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Interment with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
