Floy S. Polasky, 78, formerly of Newfane, N.Y., and Hendersonville, N.C., and most recently of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born May 8, 1930, in Flint, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Paul Bryant Stallings and Belma Elizabeth Bray Stallings.

She was a homemaker and an awesome cook. She enjoyed playing piano and organ for many churches and organizations.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Chester Thomas Polasky of Hagerstown; one daughter, Shirlee K. Imes of Hagerstown; four sons, Kenneth Paul Polasky of Burt, N.Y., James Edward Polasky of Denmark, S.C., David Wayne Polasky of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Jeffrey William Polasky of Burnsville, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Joy Polasky; one sister, Jean Friend; and one grandson.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

A memorial service will be Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Valley Grace Brethren Church, 17310 Gay St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Daniel Pritchett will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Valley Grace Brethren Church, Deacons Fund, 17310 Gay St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, Md.
