Chiropractor attends workshop

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Dr. Evon Barvinchack of Barvinchack Associates participated in an interactive two-day workshop on sports injuries and soft tissue injuries. The purpose of the workshop was to prevent new soft tissue injuries from developing into chronic pain patterns.

The workshop was co-taught by Dr. Tom Hyde, who treats members of the Miami Dolphins, and Dr. Gregory Doerr, who works with members of the Washington Redskins.

Barvinchack has practiced for 39 years.

Baker receives advanced certification

The Rev. David C. Baker, director of spiritual care services at Washington County Hospital, received advanced certification as a diplomate in clinical pastoral education from the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP).

To achieve status as diplomate, Baker completed two years of clinical pastoral education followed by several years of supervised work in providing pastoral education.


The mission of the hospital's department of spiritual care is to provide spiritual support and promote a healing environment.

Caregiver of the year named

Paula Campanile has been selected caregiver of the year by the Home Instead Senior Care office for Frederick County.

She has been recognized for her commitment and services to older adults who are local clients of Home Instead Senior Care.

Campanile was nominated by clients, other CAREGivers and staff members.
