Emmanuel Christian School in Hagerstown participated April 24 in the Maryland Association of Christian Schools Fine Arts Competition in Westminster, Md.
Elementary competition categories and awards:
o First grade - Madison Crampton, poetry; Caleb Jones, art; Grant Lescalleet, spelling; Preston Miller, oral interpretation (third place)
o Second grade - Faith Staley, art; Emmett Hoyt, spelling and history project (first place for history project)
o Third grade - Grace Staley, art/spelling; Bryan Sprankle, art; Kenton Bowers, art; Rose Shank, art
o Fifth grade - Jessica Aikens, photography, Bible teaching and art (first place in Bible teaching and second place in photography)
o Sixth grade - Candace Sprankle, art and spelling; Ethan Bowers, art; Ruthann Staley, sewing
High school competition category and award:
o 10th grade - Marty Hoyt, biology testing (second place)
