'Family Fun' event at Summit Point

SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - The Summit Point Raceway will host its first Summit Point Spring Festival, "Family Fun at the Park," on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The entire facility will be open to the public. Jefferson County residents will be admitted for free. Nonresidents will be charged $5 per person or $10 per carload.

The event will feature activities from pony rides to highway accident avoidance demonstration rides with expert BSR instructors for adults and minors accompanied by adults.

Car and motorcycle clubs have been invited to a Summit Point Cruise-In. Food will be sold throughout the day.

For a fee, visitors will be able to drive their own vehicles on one of the circuits at lunchtime.

Activities requiring advance registration include an autocross event, high-performance driver training for cars and motorcycles, and an accident avoidance class.
