SHHS Alumni Association

South Hagerstown High School's Alumni Association will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the school's media center.

On the agenda are this year's scholarship recipients and the benefit golf tournament scheduled for June 11 at Beaver Creek Country Club.

Membership in the association is open to all South High alumni.

Rummage sale

The United Methodist Women of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave., will host a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 8 and 9. Breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase, as well as baked goods. For information, call 301-733-4720.

Yard sale

Hagerstown First Church of God, 1015 Rosehill Ave., will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9. Proceeds will go toward missions.

Yard/bake sale

Neighborhoods 1st Locust Point will hold a yard and bake sale Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to noon at Bester Elementary School. The group is accepting donations of items to sell. It costs $10 to rent a table. For more information, contact Lynda at 301-992-6943.

Titanic experience

Discovery Station has scheduled "A Titanic Tour" Saturday at 2 p.m. with each "passenger" receiving a Titanic boarding pass with a passenger's profile.

The second part of the event is to go to the Explorer Caf for an ice cream treat appropriate to the dessert served on the Titanic and during the days of "The Great Gatsby."
