Washington County Arts Council

Janet Salter and Stuart Mullendore have joined the board of directors of the Washington County Arts Council.

Prospect Cottage

Jennifer "Jenna" Taylor, NCC, LGPC, recently joined the staff of Prospect Cottage as a professional mentalhealth counselor.

Taylor will kick off her practice May 23 with a two-hour seminar titled "Baby Blues & Beyond: Anxiety and Depression During Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period." The seminar is at 2 p.m. at 113 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown.

The seminar will cover postpartum mood disorders, risk factors for them, symptoms, treatments and potential complications if left untreated.

Registration fee for the seminar costs $10 per person.

In addition to seminars, Taylor will provide individual, couples and group therapy for clients coping with mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety, relationship issues, and grief and loss. She also will offer a specialized focus for women coping with domestic violence, sexual trauma and reproductive concerns.

Taylor spent several years working in nonprofit agencies that provide therapeutic services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse/assault, offering emotional and mental health support during times when women felt most frightened, vulnerable and out of control.

Taylor holds a bachelor's degree from Hood College in Frederick, Md., and a master of science degree in mental health counseling from Shippensburg (Pa.) University. She is a nationally certified counselor and a licensed graduate professional counselor in the state of Maryland.

Harold A. Comerer recently joined Raymond James Financial Services in Hagers- town as an account executive.

Bowers Advisory Group LLC

Jeff Bowers of Bowers Advisory Group LLC has completed the first of three graduate-level classes through The American College and MassMutal Financial Group.

The first course, "Business Valuation," was presented March 15 to 18 at an off-campus facility in Philadelphia. The class presented the components and processes associated with various income capitalization and asset valuation methods applicable to personal, business and estate needs. Bowers passed a comprehensive exam in the course, and will take the second course, "Business Succession 1," in mid-May.

Shanna Warrenfeltz of Hagerstown and Rhonda McCollum of Middletown, Md., recently were recognized by lia sophia as Excellent Beginnings Program Achievers for their outstanding sales accomplishments and professionalism with the fashion jewelry business.

They earned the designation in their first 15 weeks by attaining certain sales levels and by sharing lia sophia with other new advisers.

Brechbill and Helman Construction Co.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Senior project developer Denny Byers and estimator A.J. Killian of Brechbill and Helman Construction Co. attended the 2009 national sales meeting for Metallic Building Co. in Houston.

Brechbill and Helman is a regional dealer of the pre-engineered metal building systems manufactured by the Texas company.

Metallic Building Co. has a strong presence in the green market and is supplying the pre-engineered building portion of Vacon Inc. under construction in Chambersburg.
