Norris helps Suns shut down Power

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Hagerstown Suns started with a bang on Saturday night and the quick fireworks led the way to a 6-3 victory over West Virginia.

Jose Lozada led off with a double against West Virginia starting pitcher Rudy Owens. Steve Lombardozzi walked and Derek Norris hit his fifth home run of the season for a quick 3-0 lead.

The Suns added a fourth when Aaron Seuss walked and Steven Souza ripped a one-out double.

Marcos Frias went five innings for Hagerstown and held the Power to runs in the first and fourth innings, picking up his first win.

The Suns added runs in the seventh and eighth.

Stephen Englund doubled to lead off the seventh, went to third on a ground out and scored on a sacrifice fly by Lozada.

An inning later, Norris walked and stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a force play.

Chris Lugo tossed three innings of two-hit relief and struck out four.

The Suns will go for a sweep of the four-game series today before returing home on Monday against Greensboro.
