Saint James 13, Mercersburg 5

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Nate Lowery led Saint James with a team-high five goals, while Jordan Barr added four goals and a pair of assists as the Saints defeated Mercersburg Academy.

Spencer Draper had two goals and four assists, Jamie Peterson added two goals and two assists and Henry Warner scored a goal for the Saints (10-4). Nick Beardsley recorded 19 saves.

John Ritchey scored four goals, while David Whyel added a goal and an assist and Bill Flanagan and Giovanni Desantes had an assist each for the Blue Storm (1-8). Mark Destro had 12 saves in goal.



McSherry signs letter

SMITHSBURG -- Smithsburg senior Meghan McSherry signed a letter of intent to attend Belmont Abbey College where she will continue playing women's lacrosse.

McSherry has been a four-year starter for the Leopards and has been an all-MVAL first-team defender. Belmont Abbey, located in Belmont, N.C., is a Division II school participating in the Carolina Conference.

Plume chooses Frostburg

WILLIAMSPORT -- Williamsport senior Adam Plume, an outside linebacker, has signed a letter of intent to attend Frostburg State University where he will continue with football.

Plume had 47 solos among his 81 total tackles and had four sacks.


No. 3 Martinsburg 10, Musselman 7

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Martinsburg scored seven runs in the sixth inning to rally from a 5-3 deficit to down Musselman on Friday.

T.J. Weisenburg cracked a three-run homer for the Bulldogs (18-8) and Zach Woolcock had three RBI. Eli Fulk picked up the win in relief and Weisenburg recorded a save.

Musselman (11-11) had nine hits, three each from Blaine Coates, Jared Weatherholtz and Brandon Michael. Coates had a home run.
