Joan B. Tereyla, 81, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville, Md.
Born Jan. 29, 1928, in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert Vincent and Beatrice Grendon O'Leary.
She was employed as a secretary by the U.S. government until retiring in 1985.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Matthew Peter Tereyla of Hagerstown; four daughters, Karen Kelpy of Monrovia, Md., Nancy Dyer of Sykesville, Md., Terry Darragh of Frederick, Md., and Janice Barnes of Livingston, Mont.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack O'Leary.
