FROSTPROOF, Fla. -- Beulah "Boots" Paxton, 90, of Frostproof, Fla., died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Florida Heartland Hospital in Sebring, Fla.

Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Rice) Stafford.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Paxton; one brother, Joseph Stafford; and two sisters, Mae Barger and Dottie Smith.

She moved to Frostproof 14 years ago from Cumberland.

Mrs. Paxton was a homemaker and Methodist by faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Burkett and husband, John, of Frostproof; her sisters, Florence Pasauer of Akron, Ohio, Betty Paxton and husband Eston, of Cumberland, Georgie Berkley and husband, Clarence, of Hudson, Ohio and Elsie Weimer of Cumberland; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caretaker, Barbara Frazier of Frostproof.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, with Pastor Chester Fisher officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Living Stone Church of the Brethren, 114 N. Cedar St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
