SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. -- Tyler Burlett pitched six-plus innings for Jefferson, giving up two runs and three walks while striking out 13 Musselman batters as the No. 1 Cougars pulled out an 8-2 victory at home on Wednesday.

Will Corley led the Cougars (16-1) offense with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Bryan Milburn also added an RBI single in the third.

Musselman fell to 7-7 with the loss.

Grant McWilliams added three hits and two RBIs for the Saints (2-8, 1-7), while Mike Townes had two hits.

HANCOCK -- Brittany Moats had two hits and four RBIs, while Shawnda Wills added two hits and three RBIs for Hancock in Game 1 of the Panthers' doubleheader sweep of Saint James.

Hayley Ruppenthal struck out six and gave up no hits in the three-inning opener for Hancock.

Briana Swisher and Jennifer McSparron scored three times apiece in Game 2 for the Panthers (7-6).
