Reading Day



Washington County Reading Day will be held at Valley Mall Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Each child in attendance will receive a free book (while supplies last). The master of ceremonies will be magician Michael T, with magic shows scheduled at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. A costume parade is planned at 10 a.m. at center mall, along with story telling by children's authors.

Aviation Day



Today is Aviation Day at Valley Mall. Aviation displays will be set up throughout the mall.

Haunted house?



Candlelit tours of the Hager House and stories of its hauntings will be going on each Friday at sunset, starting May 1. Reservations are required. The cost is $3 per person. For more information, go to www.hagerhouse.org or call 301-739-8393.

Art exhibit set at museum



The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present its annual exhibition of artwork by Washington County students.

Banquet planned



Tri-State Ravens Nest No. 12 will hold its annual banquet Saturday, June 6, starting at 5 p.m. at Beaver Creek Country Club.

Scholarships will be awarded to area seniors and a Baltimore Ravens player (name to be announced later) will be on hand.

The event will include a buffet dinner and DJ. Tickets cost $35 per person. Tickets are available through The Maryland Theatre box office or by calling 301-790-0717. Deadline for reservations is Saturday, May 30.
