William Walter Rinn III, 77, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born March 25, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Walter and Norinne (Kidder) Rinn Jr.

He was the husband of 55 years to Betty Lou (Sinn) Rinn of Hagerstown.

William graduated in 1950 from North Hagerstown High School, Hagerstown.

He was a manager at Washington County Regional Airport for 15 years and a sales representative for Churchill Liquors, Baltimore, Md., for more than 20 years.

William was a member of the Quiet Birdmen Association of the United States, Hagerstown Squadron, since 1954, and the Airport Owners & Pilots Association.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by one son, Michael W. Rinn of Hagerstown; and two nephews, Barry Flood of Fort Myers, Fla., and J. Flood of Marietta, Ga.

William was preceded in death by one sister, Joan E. Rinn Flood Feldman; and an infant brother.

The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Christ's Reformed Church, 130 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Greg R. Meserole will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Md. The members of the Quiet Birdmen Association are his honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Christ's Reformed Church, Kitchen Fund, 130 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

The Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Bryan K. Kenworthy P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
