Police seek man in Oxycontin robbery

A man fled the Magnolia Square Pharmacy on North Walnut Street Tuesday night with Oxycontin during an armed robbery, the Hagerstown Police Department said in a news release.

The man walked into the pharmacy at 51 N. Walnut St. at 6 p.m. and produced a note saying he had a gun and demanding the drug Oxycontin, the release said.

A clerk gave the man an undetermined amount of the drug and the assailant fled on foot across West Washington Street, the release said.

An employee at the store was also hit with pepper spray and was treated at the scene, police said.

The suspect is described as black and wearing a dark, hooded sweat shirt and a dark baseball cap, police said.
