HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jean Lucille Carper, 81, of Harpers Ferry, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at her home.
Born June 15, 1927, in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late William Lee and Edna Louise Cummings Caniford.
She was an Episcopalian.
She worked as a financial analyst for Tracor Applied Sciences Inc.
She was a member of Charles Town (W.Va.) Loyal Order Women of the Moose 1028, American Legion Post 71 and VFW Post 3522, and Ranson (W.Va.) Senior Center. She was the first female pinsetter at Brunswick Bowling Alley.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon L. Cogle of Harpers Ferry, Peggy A. Coates of Brunswick and Jojean Poma of Charles Town; one son, Michael L. Wetzel of Columbia, S.C.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James Caniford of Boca Raton, Fla.; and close friend, Vicky Henry.
