FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Frances E. Needy Fleagle, 90, a resident of the Village of Laurel Run and formerly of 18 Virginia Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the nursing home.

Born Feb. 20, 1919, in Rouzerville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Earl S. and Minerva Ott Needy.

Her husband, Daniel D. "Tucker" Fleagle, died in 1985.

She was a 1938 graduate of Washington Township High School.

She was an engineering clerk for Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing, Hagerstown, Md., for 39 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

She also was a member of Mount Vernon Chapter Order of Eastern Star 398, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary and South Chapter AARP 2977, all of Waynesboro, and National AARP.

She is survived by one son, Daniel D. Fleagle Jr. of Miramar Beach, Fla.; one sister, Victoria Ziegenfus of Waynesboro; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Crawford Needy, Robert Needy and Charles Needy.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Revs. A. Robert Cook and Jay Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
