Suns work extra again to beat Lake County

EASTLAKE, Ohio -- The Hagerstown Suns plated two runs in the top of the 11th inning to post a 6-4 win over Lake County on Saturday in the third game of the season-opening four-game series.

Michael Guerrero delivered a one-out single and went to third on a single by Marcus Jones. Guerrrero scored on a double by Ronnie Labrie that sent Jones to third. Robert Jacobsen then brought in Jones with a sacrifice fly.

The Suns (2-1) had taken a 4-3 lead with a three-run rally in the ninth on Guerrero's rbi double, a sacrifice fly by Jones and RBI single by Labrie.

David Slovak came on in relief in the ninth inning and pitched 1 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Justin Phillabaum pitched the 11th inning to pick up the save for Hagerstown.

Derek Norris hit his first home run for the Suns, a slo shot in the fourth inning.

The four-game series concludes today and the Suns come to Hagerstown for the home opener Monday at 6:35 against Delmarva.
