The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts hosted its annual membership meeting March 19 at the museum.
Several members of the museum's volunteer organization, the Singer Society, were recognized for years of service to the museum.
Awards are based on a minimum of 48 contributed hours during the 2008 calendar year. Earning their one-year pin were Singer members Dolores Creager, Rita Doherty, Mary Ann Kamas and Lynn Norris. Also recognized for their continued service were Singer members Marjorie Hobbs, for five years, and Sandy Wantz, for 10 years of service.
Special recognition volunteer awards were also presented.
The first honoree was Wantz. Under Wantz's guidance, the docent program has flourished. Wantz also serves on the museum's advisory board.
The second honoree, Tanya Burnham, was honored for her work as a greeter, docent, an extra pair of hands when a mailing requires extra manpower and as the Singer Society's hospitality chairperson.
