WESTMINSTER, Md. - Scott Miller Dellinger, 54, of Westminster, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born March 7, 1955, in Maryland, he was the son of Waunita Miller Dellinger of Williamsport and the late Richard T. Dellinger.
He was the husband of Susan Dellinger of Westminster.
He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served 22 years.
He had been a nurse and a law student. He was an avid reader and music lover. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to hike and had hiked part of the Appalachian Trail.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are sisters, Vicki Verdeyen of Hagerstown and Karen Dellinger of San Diego, Calif.; mother-in-law, Ethelyn Purcell of Boonsboro; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Verdeyen of Hagerstown, John Vivrett of San Diego, Roy and Theresa Webber of Hagerstown, George and Jane Purcell of Riverdale, Md., and Robert Purcell of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews.
