'Guys and Dolls'

The Clear Spring High School Drama Club will present "Guys and Dolls" Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets cost $8 for adults and $6 for students.

"Guys and Dolls" is based on the story and characters of Damon Runyon and featuring the music of Frank Loesser.

Book discussion

The Leonard P. Snyder Memorial Branch Library will hold a book discussion Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. April's book selection is "Funny in Farsi: a Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America" by Firoozeh Dumas.

Soup and sandwiches

The Clear Spring High School Future Business Leaders of America will hold its annual soup and sandwich dinner Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Tickets cost $6 and include soup, sandwich, drink and snack. Desserts will be on sale for a nominal fee.

Slippery potpie supper

The Big Pool Civic Organization will hold a slippery potpie supper Saturday, April 18, from 4 p.m. until sold out at the Big Pool Community Building. The menu includes chicken and ham potpie, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, cake and drinks. Food may be eaten there or carried out.

Tickets cost $6.50 for adults and $3 for those ages 12 and younger. Preschoolers will be admitted free.

Did you know that the Town of Clear Spring has its own seal? Justin Ebersole designed it when he was in eighth grade at Clear Spring Middle School. It features a scenic view of the old National Pike, Plumb Grove, the Log House Museum and the oldest church in Clear Spring, St. Andrew's.
