Police seek N.Y. man in Chambersburg shooting



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Trevor Hart, a New York man suspected of shooting Darnell Johnson of Chambersburg in the leg on Jan. 18.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Quality Inn on Wayne Avenue, following a dispute at a birthday party inside, police said.

Police filed charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unlicensed firearm.

Information sought in vehicle vandalism incident with brick



WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Someone threw a brick at a vehicle in the 100 block of North Church Street on Monday, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

The brick broke the windshield and dented the hood, police said.

Tires stabbed on van in Waynesboro



WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A knife was used to stab tires on a 1989 Dodge Caravan parked in the 200 block of Hawbaker Avenue on Tuesday, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

All four tires were stabbed between 2 and 8 a.m., police said.

Incidents reported to Washington County Sheriff's Dept.



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following incidents, according to Sgt. Roy Harsh:

Tuesday:

o At 2:44 p.m., a suspicious person was reported at River Bottom Park in Williamsport.

Monday:

o At 7:38 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 100 block of West Main Street in Sharpsburg. Someone slashed the top of a convertible.

o At 740 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 100 block of East Main Street in Sharpsburg. Someone damaged a convertible top.

o At 10:39 a.m., shoplifting was reported at AT&T, 17301 Valley Mall Road. Someone took a Fuse phone.

o At 1:03 p.m., an assault was reported at Springfield Middle School, 334 Sunset Avenue in Williamsport.

o At 1:17 p.m., an assault was reported at The Oak Hill House, 12806 Independence Road. A staff member was assaulted.

o At 2:13 p.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 100 block of East Antietam Street in Sharpsburg. Three pairs of sunglasses were taken.

o At 4:31 p.m., drug violations were reported at Williamsport High School.

o At 4:59 p.m., shoplifting was reported at the Prime Outlets, 495 Prime Outlets Boulevard.

o At 5:20 p.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 13900 block of McIntosh Circle. A radio and speakers were taken.

o At 5:32 p.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 17500 block of Longstreet Circle. A radar detector was taken.

o At 6:04 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 11500 block of Selema Drive. A vehicle was keyed.

o At 7:46 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the area of Greenberry Road and Virginia Avenue. Juveniles threw a rock at someone's vehicle.

o At 9:57 p.m., theft was reported in the 14000 block of Village Mill Drive. Someone took a cellular phone.

Hagerstown Police respond to calls



The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents Sunday, according to spokeswoman Barbara Pickett:

o At 3:08 a.m., drug violations were reported in the 900 block of Dual Highway. A 20-year-old Hagerstown man was arrested.

o At 9:58 a.m, theft of an XM radio and money was reported at 30 Summer St.

o At 11:20 a.m., damage to vehicle windows was reported on Hamilton Boulevard.

o At noon, a black, red and white Mongoose Odyssey bicycle was found at 55 Jamison Drive.

o At 1:06 p.m., sexual assault was reported in the first block of Lee Street.

o At 1:21 p.m., graffiti was reported at three addresses in the 300 block of East Ridge Drive.

o At 4:21 p.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the first block of Berner Avenue. A pocketbook was stolen.

Juvenile arrests reported in Hagerstown



The following juvenile arrests were reported recently by the Hagerstown Police Department:

o March 19, 10 a.m., second-degree assault, Northern Middle School, two male offenders.

o Wednesday, 10:31 a.m., disrupting school, Western Heights Middle School, female offender.

o Friday, 4:37 p.m., controlled dangerous substance violations, 400 block of Belview Avenue, male offender.

o Saturday, 2:42 a.m., second-degree assault, 1400 block of Kensington Drive, male offender.

o Saturday, 11:40 a.m., theft reported at Wal-Mart, 17850 Garland Groh Blvd., male offender.

W.Va. trailer fire appears suspicious



MARTINSBURG -- A fire that damaged a utility trailer early Monday morning is being investigated as a suspicious blaze, Martinsburg Fire Department Capt. G.E. Gochenour said.

Reported at 2:18 a.m., the enclosed trailer was parked at 220 Tavern Road just outside of the City of Martinsburg, Gochenour said.

An estimate of the damage or the owner of the property was not immediately available.

Martinsburg man arraigned on arson charge



MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A 41-year-old man was arraigned over the weekend on a charge of fourth degree attempted arson after police in Martinsburg were told that he shoved a cigarette pack into the gas tank of a car and then asked a witness for a lighter, according to court records.

Steven A. Collier Sr., of 116 N. Maple Ave., Martinsburg, was arraigned by Magistrate Harry L. Snow, who set a $10,000 bond for the defendant, according to court records.

The witness told police that she watched the defendant pound on a black Volkswagen Jetta in the area of 201 N. Kentucky Ave., and was talking to himself before picking the cigarette pack off the ground, according to a complaint by Martinsburg Police Department Patrolman S.A. Shelton.
