Open house



Gold's Gym in Hagerstown will host its semi-annual open house and fundraiser to benefit the Parent Child Center of Hagerstown from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4. Visitors can sample Gold's Gym Exercise and spinning classes, take the total fitness challenge, food, fun, prizes and more. There will be a kid's club carnival with games, moon bounce and fingerprinting offered by the Hagerstown Police Department. Gold's Gym is also collecting nonperishable or canned food items.

DASH raises cash



BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - War Memorial Hospital's Center for Rehab & Wellness will offer the free program, "DASH into Spring with Herbs, Spices and Produce" at 1 p.m. Monday, April 13, at 261 Berkmore Place, Suite 2A, Berkeley Springs. Registered dietitian Sara Kuykendall will talk about the DASH eating plan and various herbs and spices to jazz up your recipes.

Kidney walk/run



FREDERICK, Md. -The inaugural Western Maryland Kidney Walk/Fun Run will be Sunday, May 17, at Rose Hill Manor Park. Registration begins at noon and the event starts at 1 p.m. The event features a five-kilometer (three mile) route through the park.
