St. Maria Goretti



The Goretti Players, under the musical direction of the Cumberland Valley School of Music, will present "Seussical: The Musical" Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Hagerstown Community College's Kepler Theater. The next PTO meeting will be Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. The primary agenda will be a review of the 2009-10 budget.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 446 again had good numbers at the scales.

The group installed officers for the coming year.

The group leader will present a program Wednesday titled "So Right."

Hagerstown Lioness Club



The Hagerstown Lioness Club will meet Thursday at The Venice Inn at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Dual Highway in Hagerstown.

The club will be celebrating its 31st anniversary.

Social hour is at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner is at 6:30 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner



Longmeadow Church of the Brethren will hold a spaghetti dinner and auction Saturday at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $6 for adults and $3 for those ages 5 to 12. Those younger than 5 will be admitted free.

Proceeds will benefit the church's missions.

At last week's meeting, the best TOPS losers were Valerie Eccard, Betty Rice, Angie Youngblood, Bonnie Henry and Donna Blackowitz, while the best KOPS losers were Cindy Ryder and Emma Jean Robertson.

The contest for May will be titled "The Power of Three," a challenge to cut 100 to 200 calories daily by making three eating adjustments.

Valerie Eccard and Betty Rice split the "Get R Done" winnings.

The group meets Mondays at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave.

Neighborhoods 1st



The Historic North Neighborhoods 1st group will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Potomac Heights Elementary School.
