Girl Scout Bronze Award winners

March 29, 2009

Morgan Crespo, Marissa Freeman, Sarah Mason, Elta Clarke and Emma Stonestreet from Girl Scout Troop 52 in Hagerstown earned the Bronze Award, the highest honor awarded to a Junior Girl Scout.

The project required them to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project that makes a positive impact on their community. On Feb. 19, they organized an evening of bingo for the patients at Western Maryland Hospital Center, where they hold their meetings. Prizes donated by the community included personal hygiene items, books, videos, music CDs and a CD player.

Each Girl Scout was required to spend a minimum of 15 hours preparing for and implementing the project. They will be recognized at the Young Women of Distinction Ceremony May 17 in Winchester, Va.
