BOONSBORO - Donald E. Keadle, 77, of West Della Lane, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 20, 1931, near Mount Lena, Md., he was the son of the late Guy E. and Ethel E. Stottlemyer Keadle.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, W. Jean Keadle.

He was a 1949 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He retired from the Roxbury Correctional Institution after 26 years of service.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He attended Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Tri-State Fellowship of Hagerstown.

He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42's Last Man's Club of Hagerstown, American Legion Post 10 of Boonsboro, Improved Order of Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84 of Williamsport and Mount Lena Reservation Club.


He is survived by one son, Duane Keadle of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three stepsons, Tommy Blickenstaff of Secretary, Md., and Mark Blickenstaff and Keith Blickenstaff, both of Boonsboro; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, Hagerstown. The Rev. Rachal Black will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.
